Dear Sisters,

I remember Grandpa Aardsma saying "Spring is sprung, the grass is rizz, I wonder where da birdies is?" As I type this cover letter the birdies are singing and chirping outside my window, and I hear the sounds of children playing in the puddles from the recent rain.

What did the readers of The Mother's Companion think of last issue's lead article, "Woman to Woman"? I've loaded the Dear Helen colum this issue with responses. I think you will find these encouraging, though provoking, and heart rending.

The lead article this issue introduces a large, home schooling family who live in the city. I think you will find "Meet the Mills Family" inspiring.

Sorry, but there was just no room for "Timothy's Diary" this issue! From the mail I receive I gather that this column is a favorite of many subscribers. But Timothy's development is slowing now, so it is not necessary for this column to appear in each issue to keep up with him, and it will probably begin to show up a little less frequently.

"Gerald's Homestead Notes" was also squeezed out this issue. I have also gleaned from the mail that this column is a favorite with many of the men who regularly read The Mother's Companion (after their wives have finished reading it, of course!) Look for it again next issue.

The Mother's Companion bound Volume 3 is very nearly complete. We expect it to be ready by the time you receive your next issue. Until then....

Blessings,

Helen E. Aardsma
