Dear Sisters,

I have never worked so long and hard on any article as I have on the lead article, "Woman to Woman", this issue. The medical, historical, and biblical research which went into it was carried out prayerfully over a number of months and was thoroughly discussed with my husband, Gerald, often during the late night hours (the only time we can really talk!). I don't recall ever feeling so much opposition from the "spiritual forces of wickedness" (Ephesians 6:12) while preparing an article. I think it is safe to conclude that Satan is not happy about this article going to press. So I hope you will enhance his discomfiture by not only reading the article yourself but also by passing it around to all your friends and---most importantly---by putting its biblical wisdom into practice in your own life. May God begin to restore biblical womanhood and motherhood to the homes and the churches of America.

While Jennifer was home from college over the Christmas holidays she helped with the indexing of all the Volume 3 issues of The Mother's Companion. We hope to have the cumulative index for the first three years of The Mother's Companion available in printed form within a few monhts. Also in preparation is The Mother's Companion bound Volume 3, to go with the Volume 1 and 2 bound volumes.

What are bound volumes, you ask? They are one year's issues plus an index bound in book form. They have durable laminated covers and plastic spiral "spring" bindings. We have designed them to be both attractive and rugged so they will "work" equally well on the coffee table, in the kitchen, or in the church library. They are the most economical way to obtain a second set of issues and, because of their rugged construction, they are a good way to share The Mother's Companion with others. Bound volumes 1 and 2 are currently available---watch for the bound Volume 3 to be announced soon in a future cover letter.

Blessings,

Helen E. Aardsma
