Dear Sisters,

Sometimes God overrules our plans. The lead article I had planned for this issue was "Life After C-Section", but the Lord had something else in mind. Atfer much writing, discussion with Gerald, and prayer the lead article this issue is "Mothers and Daughters". I know the Lord makes no mistakes, and that He has a special reason for this unexpected change. I trust you will find special help, encouragement and blessing in "Mothers and Daughters" this issue. Watch for "Life After C-Section" down the road, in His perfect time.

Things are gearing up for Jennifer's wedding June 5th. I hope to write about the wedding next issue---how we put it together, how we cut costs, and how it all went. I'm looking forward to sharing some of the emotions and fun of the wedding, plus lots of photographs!

I've been repeatedly reminded of the faithfulness of the Lord lately. Our family has seen God at work in answer to prayer in a number of specific ways these past few months. I share a few of these answers in "At Our House" this issue. I hope these will encourage you as they have me.

Oh dear, despite our best efforts and many "overtime" hours on Gerald's part, bound Volume 4 is still not ready. It's high up on the To Do list though. Maybe it will be ready by the time the next issue of The Mother's Companion goes to press.

Some days we moms feel worn out, overloaded, and overwhelmed. Don't forget to take a daily, refreshing "mini-vacation"---a quiet time with your Bible in your room while baby naps, or under the back tree while the little ones play in the dirt. Just a few minutes aside with the Lord each day can make all the difference in the world.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.
(Matthew 11:28-30)

Blessings,

Helen E. Aardsma
